Additionally, Lennar’s special limited-time offers can be combined with a federal tax credit for all homebuyers who haven’t owned a home in the past three years. The tax credit is worth 10% of the purchase price, for up to $8,000. However, homebuyers must act quickly as the federal tax credit has only been approved until November 30, 2009 and there are no guarantees that it will be extended.
According to Stickelman, not only does the credit cut your tax bill, but also the credit will be refunded if the buyer doesn’t owe $8,000 in taxes.
