Lennar is pleased to announce that we have launched the new Timeline format on our Facebook page. Similar to the Timelines that Facebook is rolling out for personal profiles, the Timeline page format for businesses and organizations greatly enhances the overall experience in a number of ways. “The goal is to make Pages more engaging and more social,” said Gokul Rajaram, Facebook’s product director for ads. Online news site Mashable explained how the Facebook Timeline page design provides a more personal experience: “A prominently displayed section on the landing page shows how many of your friends like the brand, as well as your friends’ public mentions of related topics.” For the more than 114,000 people who currently “Like” Lennar on Facebook, the new Timeline format enhances and simplifies their experience on our page. The application selections are now more prominent at the top of the page, so it’s easier to find exactly what you’re looking for. And the clickable timeline dates make it easier to access posts and images from previous months or years, without having to continuously scroll down the page. There’s also a separate box just for posts by others, so people can easily see what others are posting on the Lennar timeline without having to change the filter on the wall. The page also makes it possible to send Lennar private messages, without having to broadcast personal information to our entire fanbase. Perhaps the most fun new aspect of the Facebook Timeline is exactly what the name implies: the ability to show a complete timeline of our Company History, with key dates, images and captions that tell our story – beginning with Lennar’s inception in 1954.
