Lennar Gears Up To Be Presenting Sponsor For St. Charles Half Marathon In Charles County, Maryland This Weekend

Lennar, one of the nation’s leading names in the homebuilding industry, is lacing up its running shoes and gearing up to be the presenting sponsor at the St. Charles Half Marathon in Charles County, Maryland taking place this weekend on Sunday, April 18.

This inaugural Half Marathon event presented by the homebuilder will be part of the nationwide 15-city 2010 United States Running Association Half Marathon Series. The event was created in partnership with title sponsor American Community Property Trust (ACPT) and the Charles County Department of Economic Development and Tourism.

“Our Company is committed to playing an active role in events that enrich this local community and we are honored to be the presenting sponsor for the first St. Charles Half Marathon event,” said John R. White, President of Lennar’s Maryland division. “We have a variety of fun activities scheduled for this weekend and look forward to a lot of participants coming out to experience this beautiful area.”

Event activities start on Saturday, April 17 with a Chick-fil-A® Rail Trail Fun Run for the kids on the recently opened Indian Head Rail Trail. The trail showcases wildlife areas along a scenic running and biking trail through one of Maryland’s most picturesque counties. A Runner’s Expo will be held at Regency Furniture Stadium.

On Sunday, April 18, the Half Marathon presented by Lennar and also a Michelob Ultra 5K will travel through ACPT’s St. Charles planned community. Runners will enjoy hearing music throughout the course that provides views of gorgeous neighborhoods situated in the countryside.

After the race there will be a post-race celebration party and an awards presentation ceremony. All Half Marathon participants will receive a high quality “tech” shirt and a commemorative medal will be presented to all runners that complete the marathon.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the United Way.

Lennar Maryland Advises Time Is Running Out To Take Advantage Of The Homebuyer Tax Credits

The countdown is almost over and time is quickly coming to a close to take advantage of the historic government homebuyer tax credit opportunities. New homes must be purchased by April 30, 2010 to qualify for a tax credit.

With this date less than 60 days away, the Maryland division of Lennar, one of the nation’s top homebuilders, is urging prospective homebuyers to stop waiting on the sidelines and to take action to get into the home of their dreams or miss out on these incredible savings.

If you haven’t owned a home in the last three years you may qualify to receive the first-time homebuyer government tax credit of up to $8,000. Plus, even current homeowners may also qualify to receive up to a $6,500 tax credit. These tax credits are not loans, but prospective buyers must act now in order to not miss out on these opportunities.

“Another homebuyer tax credit extension is unlikely,” said Jonathan Tepper, Director of Sales and Marketing for Lennar’s Maryland division. “So the time to buy is before April 30 to take advantage of these credit opportunities that may never be seen again.”

Right now, Lennar has a large selection of move-in ready homes all across Maryland and Southern Pennsylvania that qualify and can close in time to take advantage of the tax credits.

Plus, the homebuilder has aggressive low prices, below market financing, closing cost incentives and 100 percent financing available in select communities with specific lending programs.

The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has already changed guidelines requiring buyers to put more money down. New FHA guidelines include credit score requirements will increase, seller contribution to closing costs will be reduced by 3 percent and monthly mortgage insurance premiums will increase. It’s important prospective buyers buy now or run the risk of not qualifying.

Lennar Maryland and Pennsylvania Host Make Magic Holiday Food and Toy Drive To Benefit The Willis McGahee Foundation

Lennar is hosting a “Make Magic!” food and toy drive benefitting the Willis McGahee Foundation now through December 15 at all of its communities throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Area residents are encouraged to visit any of Lennar’s 12 Welcome Home Centers in Maryland and Pennsylvania to donate any non-perishable food item or a new unwrapped gift to help families in need celebrate this holiday season.

In addition, as part of Lennar’s “Make Magic!” food and toy drive, any Web visitor that registers here, Lennar will donate $1.00 in that persons name to the Willis McGahee Foundation.

The Willis McGahee Foundation was established to help underprivileged children in the Baltimore area by providing them with the tools, resources and encouragement they need to become self-sufficient young people with a sense of high self-worth.

The foundation provides toys at the holidays, Thanksgiving meals, schools supplies, books and educational materials and dental supplies to children in need and their families.

Lennar Maryland Advises Prospective First-Time Homebuyers That Time Is Running Out To Take Advantage Of The $8,000 Tax Credit

Lennar, one of the nation’s leading homebuilders, is urging prospective homebuyers to not miss the opportunity to take advantage of the government first-time homebuyers tax credit that is expiring at the end of November.

Currently, the Maryland division of Lennar is offering a select number of move-in ready homes available for immediate closing at several of its communities located throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania.

“Prospective first-time homebuyers need to act now and stop waiting on the sidelines before it really is too late to take advantage of this incredible opportunity,” said Jonathan Tepper, Director of Sales and Marketing of Lennar’s Maryland division. “What prospective first-time homebuyers need to realize is that in order to be eligible to receive this government tax credit they must close on the home in November.”

Any prospective buyer that has not owned a home in the last three years may qualify to receive this government tax credit of up to $8,000. It is not a loan and there is no re-payment. Lennar is also assisting eligible buyers if the home does not qualify for the tax credit by offering to take $8,000 off the sales price of the home in select communities.

Right now in the Washington metro area, Lennar has homes available that qualify for the tax credit opportunity in Gateway Commons. The community located in Clarksburg offers townhome-style condominiums and townhomes priced from the $100s.

In Southern Maryland there are single-family homes and townhomes available in Fairway Village in Waldorf that are priced from the $200s, homes available in the Heritage at St. Charles active adult community in White Plains that are priced from the $200s and homes available in the Summerwood single-family home community in Accokeek that are priced from the $300s.
